Commercial Encryption

End-to-End encryption of either voice or data communications requires compatible devices to be attached at both ends of the call, and requires that the devices utilize a data connection to transport the encrypted data. Commercial encryption devices, available to the general public, are available from CopyTele (DCS-1200 and DCS-1400) and from General Dynamics (Sectera SWT-BDI).
The CopyTele products are based on the Harris Citadel chip and are available commercially to any consumer. These products are described in the following brochures:

The General Dynamics Sectera SWT-BDI commercial product uses the AES encryption algorithm and is discussed on the General Dynamics website.
