Limit Mechanical Stress on GSP-1620 Antenna Connectors

leave a comment »

Regardless of the eventual application it is very important to limit and relieve the stress on the GSP-1620 RF connectors.  Any good design MUST include strain relief on the modem end of the cables.  For many applications, we recommend using right-angle connectors on both ends of the cable – MCX-RA on the GSP-1620 end, and SMA-RA on the antenna side – so that the modem-end of the cable can be tied flat to the modem and the antenna can be mounted close to the surface.  However, some installations are better served by having straight connectors; you will have to determine the best connector for your product.
