NOTE:

  1. It is VITALLY IMPORTANT to provide proper grounding and lightning protection when installing a fixed phone.
  2. Detailed instructions are provided in the installation manual for the GSP-2900.
  3. These instructions must be adhered to with the utmost meticulousness in order to ensure the safety of anyone using the phone or any attached device.

GSP-2900 Data Cable Description:

The data cable for the GSP-2900 (also known as GSP-2800 or GSP-2400) has two connectors at the “radio” end which connect to two different places on the green daughter-board inside the fixed phone unit. These wires are brought down to a junction box which provides grounding and also provides a standard female DB9 connector which should be plugged into your computer or other data device.

GSP-2900 orientation is Upright,with antenna at the top

========================================

Flat 5-pin AMPS connector (5 pins in a straight line)

The 5-pin header on the circuit board is labeled J2.

With the unit still upright, there is a 4-pin RJ11 phone socket on the right side of the circuit board.

This phone socket is labeled TELCO

Bottom pin  (#4)  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  1 DCD (carrier detect)

1. The uppermost pin of the RJ11 is RI and goes to Pin 9 of the DB9
2. The lowermost pin of the RJ11 is DCD and goes to Pin 1 of the DB9
—————————————————————————————————–
NOTE:  Sometimes the data cable utilizes a 6-conductor modular plug instead of a 4-conductor RJ11 modular plug.
If a 6-conductor modular plug is used, then the RI cable needs to be attached to the second conductor from the top, and the DCD cable needs to be connected to the second conductor from the bottom.
