Keyspan USB Adapter Problems & Solutions
A customer has a Keyspan adapter for his GPS and navigation system. The problem with his #777 connection is that when he tries to connect, the computer freezes and has to be shut off, while the satellite phone shows that it connects at 9.6kbps.
Answer: First of all, it is important to recognize that this is a Keyspan problem. The customer should contact Keyspan Customer Support either through their web site or via phone. Recently, the Keyspan web site provided the following contact information:

Following are some helpful hints we have been able to put together. However, the true authority on this subject is Keyspan. Therefore, we STRONGLY recommend that the customer contact Keyspan for ALL technical support related to Keyspan products.
The computer might freeze if the GPS software is running when Windows initiates the dial-up session. Even though Windows dials the remote computer, further handshaking freezes the computer. Therefore, make sure that the GPS software is halted before trying to connect to the Globalstar phone modem.
If the trouble continues, then it is possible that the Keyspan driver needs to be upgraded. If upgrading the software doesn’t work, then the customer should de-install the Keyspan software and re-install the software. Instructions for Keyspan software upgrades, installs, and de-installs are available at the Keyspan web site.
